Beginning in 1977, Coosaw Farms, year after year has made a progression toward being exactly what you want in a fresh produce grower. Every year proof can be found in every area we farm.

Dependable Size Consistency

For the need of true perfection in bin count and weight consistency, the farm purchased one of the world's first automated watermelon packing lines in 2002. The line weighs and sorts every melon with a remarkable consistency of ± ¼ lb. In 2005, we modified our line to enable washing and automated labeling. In 2007 we modified again so every watermelon could be sanitized, in addition to washed. And our work continues toward always being the best for you.

Passionate about encouraging children to eat healthy and enjoy watermelon's great nutritional benefits, Coosaw Farms created one of the first custom designed bins with the children's character J. Slice.

We know the intense planning surrounding your orders and fulfillment. Because of this, Coosaw Farms holds a long history of waking early and closing late to make Herculean efforts a norm. Every family member is working seven days/week during harvest to make sure your product is on time and on spec. And with the advantage of having a local network of drivers and good relationships with quality freight carriers, we can make quick fills when you need something fast.

Food Safety and Traceability

Every year Coosaw Farms is audited for USDA GAP/GMP in regard to Food Safety. As consumers ourselves feeding even our own families, we understand why Food Safety is important. Upstanding practices in everything we do are just a part of our every day. There's no other way.

In 2009, we launched an enhanced level of traceability through a partnership with YottaMark®. The HarvestMark® traceability system offers product-level traceability from any internet connection anywhere in the supply chain. Simply type in the unique on-product code using the HarvestMark® site.

If you're not in the fields every day, it's easy to miss or take for granted, but we want you to understand how important every year's crop is to our family. We work tirelessly behind the scenes for months in preparation for each season's harvest to produce the best in taste and quality. Constant adjustments are made to field preparation, planting, growing, harvesting, packing, and shipping. Every plant is carefully watered and fertilized with critical precision. Meticulous selection goes into harvesting and grading and well trained professionals pack your order to your specifications.
